The
good ferryman and the water nymphs
There was once an old man very
poor, with three sons. He lived by ferrying people across a river ; but he had
had nothing but ill-luck ll his life. And to crown, on the night he died,
there was a great storm and the old
ferry-boat, which his sons depended for a living, was sunk.
Father
: “ this
is moment, father must go far “
Old
brother : “what is
this execution ??? “
Second
brother : “
maybe...!!! “
Youngest
brother : “ father....
Father.... “ (this father finished died)
Old
brother : “
preferbly, we go to ship, before great storm
come in here !!!
Second
brother : “
go.. Go.. Go.. !!! “
Youngest
brother : “ help me.... This
ferry boat was sunk “
As they were lementing both their
father and their poverty, an old man came by and learning the reason of their
sorrow.
Youngest
brother : “ i am sad...”
Old
man : “why
you are sad..???”
Second
brother : “
i am sad because my father leaves in this world for always...”
Old
brother : “ now we
to be come had nothing”
: “never mind all will
come right on time. Look ! There is your boat as good as new “
Youngest
brother : “ yes sir, thank you
very much ”
And there was, a fine new
ferry-boat on the water, in place of the old one and a number of people waiting
to be ferried over.
The
three brothers arranged to take turns with the boat and divide the fares they
took.
Youngest
brother : “ preferbly we
go there soon, to arrange the
passengers. ”
Old
brother : “ which
your charge..? “
Passengers
: “ this is my
charge !!! “
Second
brother : “
yes, entry please.. “
Passangers
: “ thank you “s
They were however very different
in disposition. The two elder brothers
were greedy and avaricious and would never take anyone across the river,
without beig handsomely paid for it.
However , the youngest brother
ferried the poor people across, for free; and moreover frequently subsidized
their needs out of his own pocket.
: “ i would
never take anyone across river, without
being handsomely paid for it “
: “ are you
sure “
: “ yes, i
sure...!!! “
: “ different
with me, i will ferried the poor people across for free “
: “ it’s ok..
“
One day, as the sun set, the
eldest brother was at the ferry. The
same old man, who had visited them on the night their father died, came and asked
for a passage.
: “ i have nothing to pay you with...., but
this empty purse , “
: “ go and get something to put in it first ”
repleid the ferry man,“ and be off with you now !“
: “ i will go back tomorrow...”
: “ yes, i will to wait !!! ”
Next day it was the second
brother’s turn and the same old man came and offered his empty purse as his
fare. But he was met with a similar
reply.
: “ what you old man in
yesterday ..??? “
: “ yes, i come back
again, without empty purse as change ”
: “ but, what an empty
purse same, as like yesterday..??? ”
: “ yes, i am sorry but i wish ride and be
off with you now..!!! “
: “ i am sorry i can
not be off with you now...!!! ”
The third day it was the youngest brother’s turn. When the
ld man arrived and asked to be ferried
across for charity.
: “ and what is the
fare..??? “ asked the old man
: “ that depends upon
whether you can afford it or not, ” was the reply, “ but if you can not it is
all the same to me. “
: “ yes, sure i can ”
: “ i’am not ask,
change from you !!! ”
“ a good deed is never without
its reward, said te old man “ but in the meantime take this empty purse ;
thought it is very worn and appears to be worth nothing. However, if you shake
it and say, “for his sake who gave the purse i hold i wish it will always be
full of gold ; it will always afford you as much gold as you wish for “
: “ What is your say,
its true..??? ”
: “ yes, if you can
believe it, that will certain ??!! “
: “ yes, i believe it “
Thank You
